‘No more freebies at Remo Stars’

Returning Remo Stars head coach Fatai Osho has said that the newcomers will no longer give away points on home soil in the ongoing Nigerian top-flight competition.
The Sky Blue Stars have already lost two home matches to leaders, Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes in the eight-week-old top-flight.
The newcomers will be the host of Lobi Stars in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 9 clash at the Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu.
Osho said he wants to announce his come back to the side with a resounding victory against the Pride of Benue.
“Of course, I want to start my second coming at Remo Stars on a winning note against Lobi Stars.
“Good enough Lobi Stars are not newcomers to me as I have met the side severally in the past so I’m quite conversant with their playing pattern.
“Lobi Stars are not strangers and if for any reason I lose sleep over a clash involving Lobi Stars what will I do when confronted with other teams.
“Right now we see ourselves as strong contenders not mere competitors in the top-flight.
“We have resolved to stop being a ‘Father Christmas’ to other teams, the era of throwing away points on home soil has stopped.
“I cannot be under pressure working at Remo Stars as the players there know their qualities to turn things around positively for themselves.
“If we grabbed the maximum points against Lobi Stars it will help the players to stabilise as well as gain confidence in other matches.
“We are no longer looking at the negatives but positives as negatives will always weigh us down. I’m certain there is no team without its own negatives,” said the former Crown FC coach to supersport.com.
Remo Stars are at the bottom of the 20-team top-flight on six points from a possible 24 with a game in hand against FC IfeanyiUbah.
