Ocheme likes Zamalek CCL clash
The Nigerian champions will confront the North African side in the two-legged first round clash of Caf Champions League.
The Coal City played an uninspiring goalless draw against the Algerian opposition, JS Saoura in Sunday’s reverse fixture clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu to progress on the strength of the 1-1 draw at the Stade 20 Aout 1955 in Meridja, Bechar.
Ocheme said his side will solve their goal scoring problem before the head off to Egypt to confront Zamalek SC.
“We are happy to have crossed the hurdle posed by the Algerian side, Jeunesse Sportive de la Saoura (JS Saoura) in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League.
“And now we are faced with the challenge of another North African side, Zamalek SC of Egypt.
“I strongly believe we will be ready for the Zamalek SC challenge. It calls for hard work on our part as the clash is certainly not going to be an easy one.
“I like the fact that we will play the first leg clash at away to Zamalek which will help us to fight for at least a point so that we will come back home to finish the job.
“We have great issue right now with goal scoring which is posing a lot of concern and worry to us.
“We are not comfortable that we could not score a goal on home ground against the Algerian side, JS Saoura.
“Although we know that football could be like that at times we hope everything will be done to correct the anomaly before the clash at Zamalek.
“Good enough we have a league match on Wednesday against Lobi Stars in Enugu and we hope to use the match to test our resolve to score as many goals as possible.
“We believe we will be good to go and score goals as well before the clash at Zamalek and subsequent matches,” said the former Giwa FC marksman to supersport.com.
The Caf Champions League first leg encounter between Zamalek and Enugu Rangers is expected to hold at the Cairo International Stadium in the weekend of March 10 - 12 while the reverse fixture holds March 17 – 19 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, Nigeria.
